Parking
The visitors’ car park is on site in Basement 1, entered and exited via Colonel Street. It has 43 bays and a 2.15 metre height clearance, so it is not suitable for a high van or a roof box. Time restrictions apply to street parking nearby — read the signs carefully.
Public transport
Clayton station is on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines, a walk away along Clayton Road, and buses run along Clayton Road through the medical precinct. Check the Public Transport Victoria journey planner before you travel — roadworks in the precinct change bus stops from time to time.
Access
Specially marked accessible bays are available on site, with lift access from the basement car park. Tell my rooms in advance if you use a wheelchair, need an interpreter, or would like extra time in your appointment.
Finding the rooms
Suite 7, on level 2. Monash House is on the corner of Clayton Road and Colonel Street — take the lift up from the main entrance or from the basement car park. Reception can point you the rest of the way.

What happens at this site

Consulting Antenatal visits Gynaecology In-room procedures Day surgery

Two things happen here. Consulting — antenatal and gynaecology appointments, in-room procedures and postnatal reviews. And day surgery: Monash House has its own operating theatres, so some day-case gynaecological procedures are done in the same building you consult in, which saves you learning a second hospital.

Babies are not born here. For patients who consult at Clayton, births are usually booked at Jessie McPherson Private Hospital, a short distance away on the Monash Medical Centre campus. Anything that needs an overnight stay after surgery is also booked at a hospital with inpatient beds, and confirmed in writing before the day.

Practical detail

Hospital hours
Monash House lists its opening hours as Monday to Thursday 7am – 5pm and Friday 7am – 3pm, closed at weekends. My consulting session times are shorter than this — go by the time on your appointment letter.
Café
Mr Clayton’s Café is on site if you are early, or if someone is waiting for you. There are also cafes along Clayton Road within a short walk.
Ultrasound & pathology
The Monash medical precinct has ultrasound and pathology within a short walk. Monash Ultrasound for Women has a Clayton clinic at Monash Surgical Private Hospital, 252–256 Clayton Road. I will tell you where to go and when if you need a scan.
If you are having a day procedure
Follow the fasting and arrival times on your admission letter exactly. A responsible adult must drive you home and stay with you overnight — you cannot drive, or travel home alone, after an anaesthetic. Three sets of charges apply: the hospital’s, the anaesthetist’s and mine, all set out in writing beforehand.
Hospital admissions
Monash House admissions can be reached on 03 8394 0700 or at admissions@monashhouse.com.au. Use this for hospital paperwork, fasting instructions and hospital fees — not for clinical questions.

Babies are not born at Monash House. If you are more than 20 weeks pregnant and worried, go to the birth suite at the hospital where your birth is booked — not to these rooms. See urgent concerns for the number to call.
