How we contact you

The practice may contact you by phone for anything clinical, and by SMS or email for appointment reminders and administrative matters. Please keep your contact details up to date, and let reception know if there are communication options you would prefer we did not use, or if a message should not be left.

Results and reports

Results are reviewed by Dr Aridas and discussed with you, usually at your next appointment. Anything significant or time-critical is followed up by phone, and a copy of correspondence goes to your referring GP on the day of your consultation.

Results are not released by email or given out by reception staff. If you have not heard about a result you are expecting, please call — do not assume that no news is good news.

Email, SMS and privacy

Ordinary email and SMS are convenient but not secure, and messages may be seen by others with access to your device or account. By contacting the practice this way you accept that risk. Sensitive clinical detail is better discussed by phone or in person. Referrals and clinical correspondence between doctors routinely use secure messaging channels, such as Healthlink or Medical Objects.

Speaking with family or carers

Your information is discussed only with you unless you tell us otherwise. If you would like a partner, family member or carer to be able to speak with the practice on your behalf, let reception know so it can be recorded on your file. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Interpreters and accessibility

Interpreters can be arranged at no cost to you through the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National), with a few days’ notice. If you need other accessibility support, such as Auslan interpreting or correspondence in large print, please call reception to discuss it and we will do our best to arrange what will help.

If communication falls short

If a message was missed or something was unclear, please tell the practice manager on 03 8400 6193 or in writing. Concerns are acknowledged within five business days. Raising a concern will not affect your care. The complaints process is set out in the privacy policy.
