Referral pathway

1 — Send
By secure message, email or fax — the details are at the top of this page.
Mark urgent referrals clearly in the subject line.
2 — Triage
Every referral is read and triaged within two business days. You will be contacted if the clinical picture suggests a different pathway would serve the patient better.
3 — Appointment
Reception contacts the patient directly to arrange a time and location, and provides a written fee estimate before the visit.
4 — Communication back
A consultation letter is sent on the day of the appointment, with results copied to you and a phone call for anything significant or time-critical.

What helps in a referral letter

Anything unavailable is not a barrier — please still refer.

—Reason for referral and clinical question
—For pregnancy: LMP or dating scan, gravidity and parity, previous birth details
—Relevant history, current medications and allergies
—Recent pathology, imaging and cervical screening history
—Health fund status and preferred hospital, if known
—Interpreter, mobility or communication needs
—Best contact number for the patient
